Anime Review: Sailor Moon

Hello everyone! Today, I’m going to be reviewing the most popular animated series Sailor Moon!

Synopsis: Usagi Tsukino is a cheerful 14-year-old schoolgirl who often finds herself in unwanted trouble. One day, she saves a talking cat named Luna from some mean kids, and her life is changed forever. Luna gives Usagi a magic brooch that transforms her into Sailor Moon, defender of love and justice! Now Usagi must work with Luna to find the other Sailor Guardians and the Moon Princess, whose Legendary Silver Crystal is Earth’s only hope against the dark forces of the evil Queen Beryl!

Review:

I’d highly recommend this coming of age animated series for anyone. I’ve just rewatched the entire series myself last year when I was 24 years old back in 2020. The series started out with a 14 year old girl, Usagi Tsukino, who one day went to school late and came across a strange black kitty with a luna crescent moon on her forehead. She came across this kitty frequently until one day the cat named Luna told her that she’s going to be a sailor scout. Afterwards, Luna gave her this charm to transform into her sailor scout uniform and defeat all of these evil monsters and to ultimately come across the most peril of them all which is Queen Beryl who captured her future boyfriend, Endymion or English name is Darien. Later on, 4 or 5 other sailor scouts join her in defeating these battles and she becomes Queen Serenity.

This is a really good series for the younger crowd. It was released in the early 90s but I’m surprised not a lot of people know about Sailor Moon. I even told my best friend about it and I was surprised that she doesn’t know about Sailor Moon. That’s the reason why I wanted to review it. For those of you that are new to Sailor Moon, there’s various versions of Sailor Moon so don’t get confused. There’s Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon which I’d recommend watching first, then there’s Sailor Moon Crystal which I’d recommend watching after Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon and then I’d recommend watching Sailor Moon Eternal. That’s the order I’d recommend you guys watching. Also, I’d recommend you guys watching the movies too because there are movie versions of the anime and there is a live action version of it too. As you guys can tell, I’m a HUUUUUUGE fan of Sailor Moon. If you like anything supernatural, anything related to powers, sci-fi, action, adventures, coming of age, plus steamy romance I’d HIGHLY recommend watching this series. It wouldn’t hurt. I give this series a 5 out of 5 stars!
